Guess what caught my eye...

I was reading the new issue of Running Times when I saw an ad for the Buffalo Marathon (don't worry Liz I wasn't contemplating signing up). In the lower right hand corner of the ad is a picture of a group of runners hand-in-hand on the course wearing green "NF" shirts. Could this be our NF? I stared closely at one of the shirts and saw a website: leahmanth.com. Turns out that it was indeed a group running for Neurofibromatosis.

"76 family and friends ran in the Buffalo Marathon while 80 more volunteered at the the finish line and two water tables."

An amazing showing and they raised over $54K for NF Inc, a parallel group to Children's Tumor Foundation.

We'd love to have your help and support on race day.

Hi Don & Liz. My name is Marybeth (the one on the far left in the ad with the red ls shirt). My niece Leah was diagnosed with NF2 and we established a Run4Leah team & entered the Buffalo Marathon as marathoners, 1/2 marathoners and relay teams in hopes of raising awareness for NF & and raise funds for research. We are just about to formally launch this years campaign, 100 runners & $100,000 for NF2. If you visited Leahmanth.com you now know Leah just endured her first surgery. My brother in law, John just emailed me about your blog. He would like to get in touch with you. We are new to blogging, so when you get this comment could you contact John at "jmanth7028@aol.com" Thanks so much. I haven't reviewed your entire site yet, but Anneliese's photos are precious!! And Don we all started up our training again and several of us are headin' for the 1/2 this year after last year being our first attempt at running! Go Team Leah! Go Team Anneliese!! Sincerely, marybethshaw@hotmail.com
